It's so simple it's scary. All you need to do is click on the link to the left of the screen (where all of the add controls are). Once you're there just follow the onscreen instructions. If you have lots of events to add or you regularly list events (if you're a promoter or venue) you can submit an XML feed to us which will update your listings directly to the site. To have your feed added to the site get in touch.
Why does it say I have no musical taste?
Well, do you!? It only says this (not because we don't like you or anything!) but because you haven't gone through and favourited any artists on the site yet (Why should I favourite anything?).
It's really easy to do, search for an artist (using the search box to the right) or by browsing in the 'Bands, Artists & DJ's section. When you find the band you want you will see the option to 'add yourself as a fan' in the grey bar above their profile photo. Once you've favourited them they'll appear on your profile page and you'll never be without musical taste again!
What is 'Gigping Kudos'?
It's pretty simple really, most things you do on the site will get you Kudos. See below for a breakdown of the point system. The general idea is that people that interract with the site most get more Kudos and people that have lots of Kudos unlock extra features, better competitions, free gig tickets etc etc. So, if you want to have as many points as Caffeinehit you better get cracking!
Kudos breakdown: - Registering (10 Kudos to get you started) - Adding stuff: bands, venues, photos and events (10 Kudos) - Posting comments (2 Kudos) - Adding friends and being added as a friend (2 Kudos) - Subscribing to feeds and alerts (5 Kudos)
Why Should I Favourite / Be A Fan Of Anything?
You favourite stuff on the site like bands, venues, people etc so that we can start personalising the content on the site. The more stuff you favourite the better idea we have of what it is you like and potentially don't like.
So, for example if you're a fan of My Chemical Romance we know to keep you up to date with any related competitions, events, tours and gossip.
Why Should I Set My Location?
Firstly let us reassure you that your location is never shown on the site to anyone other than yourself. By setting your location you're basically letting Gigping know just where you are and for it to narrow down the content you see on the site to be located within a certain distance from you. When you mix this in with your favourite music genres and artists you'll get content that's really personal to you.
