The WISE GUYS went from part-time musicians to full-time pretty quickly and are now hugely in demand, playing to audiences throughout the German-speaking world (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and also more recently in German-speaking venues in the US, Canada and the UK). They currently average around 130 concerts a year, some to audiences of up to 20,000 in open-air venues like the Tanzbrunnen in Köln, others in smaller, more intimate settings. Concerts are almost always sold out weeks in advance. In 2005 a total of 150,000 people attended their concerts, a record in itself for an a cappella group. The WISE GUYS make appearances on TV and are regularly played on the radio. And they release a CD of new original songs every one or two years.
