About Charlotte Hatherley Charlotte Franklin Hatherley (born June 20, 1979) is an English singer and guitarist. She was brought up in West London and attended Chiswick Community School. She is perhaps most known as the guitarist for Ash. She has found success as a solo artist and since split from Ash. Hatherley's career began when she played in the obscure British punk band Nightnurse two years prior to joining Ash. Nightnurse was formed by Ellyot Dragon after her former band Sister George broke up. Hatherley was 16 when she joined Nightnurse and later said that Dragon taught her how to be a rock star.
